Team-Gear Fitting & Krispy Kreme UAAP Final 4 Donuts

Last Sunday was crazy, is this what i called the "sneak-peek" to the upcoming UAAP Final 4 games on September? But it all started when i checked out the new Nike-Ateneo Team-Gear which are sold at Proline at SM City North EDSA Annex, i tried to find the perfect size of the Nike-Ateneo Team Jacket (which Eric Salamat & Nico Salva wore on the UAAP Season 73 TV Opening Intro), gah~ Size M doesn't fit me, my little sister who tagged along w/ me told me that Size L & Size XL fits me. Yeah, yeah, i have the body of Jason 'Jumbo' Escueta because i almost had 200lbs. Phew, it just ended up to 190, if i gone 200, i might be called Jumbo, for sometime, aside from being called Maui because i have the eye-bags of Maui Villanueva due to sleeping late! ARGH! But the Nike-Ateneo Team Jacket is somewhat pricey, only P2995, but not bad for a Blue Eagle Fan Budget (what i mean is, i'm saving some moolah to buy the coolest Ateneo Team Gear, even it's pricey!), i might snag that for the Holidays, like Christmas. But the Nike-Ateneo Team Shirt? Worth P995. I might buy both of that on Christmas, not bad for a Blue Eagle Fan-girl like me who is saving a lot of moolah just to buy anything Ateneo! (I even imagined that i have both the Nike-Ateneo Team Jacket & Team Shirt at the same time after earning some Christmas moolah! Can you say One Big Holiday?)

When there's Ateneo, there's always La Salle! Next stop last Sunday: The Adidas Concept Store, still inside SM City North EDSA Annex, i checked out the Adidas-La Salle Centennial Team Gear, as i tried the shrinked Adidas-La Salle Centennial Jacket, even it was size L, oh no, it doesn't fit me! So, what should i buy? Ok, i would love to buy the Adidas-La Salle Centennial Jacket that Simon Atkins wore on UAAP Season 73 Opening Day during the Superheroes & Team Captains Parade. (He acted like a shy boy during that time because the girls are somehow looking after Enchong Dee. Hello Simon, you're the team captain of the host school so don't be shy!) So, i will include the Adidas-La Salle Centennial Jacket & Shirts on my shopping list. But, with the hype of a cousin who is burning eyebrows to surpass the DLSUCET, the gateway to Taft Avenue is somehow open. A green-colored key w/ the star which is seen on the logo of De La Salle University is on the way. Not bad for me who is the biggest fan of the UAAP's bitter-sweet rivals, Ateneo & La Salle.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts gives a sweet treat to the UAAP Fans during the Final 4 Games, started in the year 2007 during the heart-stopping Final 4 Step-ladder games of UAAP Season 70, the 4 teams who enters the UAAP Final 4 will be converted into..... DOUGHNUTS! The original Krispy Kreme Doughnut will be topped w/ chocolate on the top & sprinkled w/ candy sprinkles representing the color of the top 4 UAAP Teams. For 3 years, the Krispy Kreme Ateneo Doughnut is a must-munch for the fans of the Hail Mary Squad, the doughnut is topped w/ chocolate on the top & sprinkled w/ blue & white-colored candy sprinkles. Now, Ateneo, FEU & La Salle are ready to enter the Final 4, i was even planning to beg my dad to buy a dozen! 4 Ateneo Doughnuts, 4 FEU Doughnuts & 4 La Salle Doughnuts! The drinks? Sheesh~ Good ol' Pepsi is the match, for someone like me who has Vic Zhou's hairdo, Maui Villanueva's eyebags, a face that has the mix of Ms. Universe 2010 tittle-holder Jimena Navarrete & Ateneo's Nico Salva but has the body of Jason 'Jumbo' Escueta. (Sheesh~ now i know what i got, but what's missing? Joshua Webb's tattoos? Give me temporary tattoos instead!) But somehow, let me wait for the Final 4 to arrive. But when this plan failed, i don't, an Ateneo Doughnut, a La Salle Doughnut & a can of Pepsi will be the Plan B.

Follow this rule: When All Else Fails, We Don't. So don't give up, plan your goals early. I just planned this team-gear shopping early before December. Because in December, GAME TIME!

Eagles, Archers, Rangers, Geass & Vampires

After i watched 'The Vampire Diaries', i guess i got hooked on the series, i even got interested to buy the books, it's just like one year ago, i got started to read the Twilight books, i haven't finished on Twilight yet. Gah~ i was way too lazy to read the book. But how come vampires don't get burned on the sun? So how come vampires live the entire day? They wear a ring, the Salvatore brothers, Stefan & Damon wear a ring so they can enjoy their everyday lives like ordinary humans. I just found out about it so i decided to wear a ring, a black 2-ring chained link ring in black that i bought 5 years ago which i haven't worn for a long time, my siblings think if i wear this, i looked like a gangster. But now, as i wear this wrong, i was more worth of a vampire in training. Hahaha. But somehow, i got hooked on this cool vampire drama series since i got started to watch it. For me, it's interesting, seeing modern day vampires. But you thought they are ordinary humans? Let me tell you something. Stefan is 17 years old physically. But bet you don't know, he's just over 140 years old because, he's a vampire.

Now, i woke up this morning w/ a news that could either make or break me, let me admit, before i knew the legendary Ateneo-La Salle rivalry which it took me the entire past decade from the time i started to watch the UAAP Games when i was a 6th Grader back in the year 2000. As i grabbed a copy of today's newspaper, whoa, it looks like my Power Rangers Fangirl Advantage will put to the test. Maybe i remember yesterday when i found out as i logged in to my Twitter account, one of the trending topics did shock me. The topic was 'Power Rangers Azul'. I thought that will be the new PR series after Power Rangers RPM which premiered last year during Ateneo's 150th Sesquicentennial Year. Gah~ Good thing it was not like 2 days ago when i talked to Rei on the phone. Code Geass was the topic with the hint of the Power Rangers. Ok, bet you don't know, the voice actor who voiced Lelouch vi Britannia in the English Dub of CG is the cute Chris Tiu or Jai Reyes-look alike who plays Adam Park in PR from Season 2 until Turbo (Season 5, 3rd PR Team). Ack! (If you think the PR Cutie who plays Adam does resemble modern-day Ateneo or La Salle players like Maui Villanueva, Ryan Buenafe, Joshua Webb, Nico Salva, Simon Atkins, Eric Salamat or anyone from those 2 teams, i guess he has the looks of all of the present players of both teams.) Gee, i feel like i want to remember the times i started to watch Power Rangers when i was a kid. So better yet, i'll watch the PR clips on You Tube.

So, Ateneo & La Salle must bounce back this weekend after their dear losses. After getting 'ambushed' by their bitter-sweet rivals, the kids of Taft Avenue headed by Coach Dindo Pumaren will face off top-seeded FEU Tamaraws. Will the Green Archers seek revenge after a double-overtime loss in the first round? Find out later. While tomorrow, the kids of Katipunan Avenue & Loyola Heights headed by Coach Norman Augustus Black will face off the AdU Falcons. It looks like Bacon Austria will face off his dear father as 2 birds take flight & slug it all out on the hard-court, the question is, who will get the 2nd seed of the top 4 ranks?  Find out tomorrow. Now as the elimination round for UAAP Season 73 draws near to it's end, there might be some slight deja vu's from the past 3 seasons. So, for the 2nd round Ateneo-FEU face-off to end the elimination round, hope the Hail Mary Squad won't suffer the nightmares from that game, but from 1 year ago. Suspensions & bad facial wounds on the right side of the face, hope that won't occur. But a bad facial wound on the left side of the face? It sounds slight trouble. Let me tell you about that in the right time.

The Ateneo Sisterhood: Blue Will Always Prevail Even When Green Means Redemption

"Ateneo lost the game today & i even lost myself, i became angry."
"What? I know, but why did you do that?"

"I can't take it, the pain of defeat for the Blue Eagles is my pain too."
What a shocker, the Blue Eagles lost the game yesterday. I almost lost myself & started to scream & think of stupid stuff, like being depressed? No way! It reminds me of what happened last summer when Adamson won over Ateneo in a pre-season tournament & i end up being silent for a few hours, writing down what i want to write in my Pepsi-F4 notepad using a violet-colored gel pen. Wishing that La Salle will seek revenge for their rivals. I did not looked like Vic Zhou since i didn't get his hairdo. But in times of trouble when the Blue Eagles are trying to escape the dark roads, who will i rely on? My little sister, the one who brought me to Ateneo since 3 years ago. 3 years ago was the start of the Ateneo sisterhood, a bond between 2 sisters & the school they choose, win or lose. Once it was just an unexpected turn of events when Puffy, my little sister decided to take the ACET & stay at Katipunan Avenue for 4 more years now it become a reality, after a decade, i realized that Puffy is been a Katipunan Avenue girl for 4 years. A Knoller for 10 years & a Blue Eagle for 4 years. I was an Honorary Blue Eagle for 4 years. But i found out that sometimes, i will end up going to Katipunan Avenue.

The first time i visited Miriam College when Puffy was in Grade School, it was so 2001. Then there was the time Puffy was at MC High School, there are some times i went there to help mom to pay Puffy's tuition fee. But things changed when Puffy changed gears but stayed at Katipunan Avenue from Miriam College to Ateneo De Manila University. During Puffy's Freshman Year at ADMU, i haven't visited ADMU, but i forced myself to cheer for the Blue Eagles when Chris Tiu received the call to become the team captain of the Hail Mary Squad. Upon La Salle's return, Chris did not fail the fans of Team Ateneo to aim 3-pointers on the dying seconds of a game. During that time, i was just getting started to explore about the school. Puffy's Sophomore Year was the time i visted Ateneo, by night! The first step i made was like it won't be my last step at ADMU. Then there were some nights i visited ADMU to pick up Puffy. But that will change on Puffy's Junior & Senior Years when i visited ADMU by day even when there are some life changes & unexpected dramas. The missing link is about where will i be happy in a territory related to schools? Even if the past could almost haunt me, the present looks clear.
The Ateneo Sisterhood was strong, surpassing each trouble, conflict or even remembering the fun times. Now Puffy is in her final year as a Blue Eagle, it's time for her to take flight on a new terrain as she should realize that the real world is coming for her. Like a feather dropped on the grassy fields of the Bellarmine Fields, i remembered that it was 3 years since the Ateneo Sisterhood began. Now La Salle is on the loose when my cousin decided to study at DLSU, i respected his decision, if he wants to be w/ the kids of Taft Avenue because his friends are there & it's the nearest university to my Auntie's household, then he must work hard to make it there. But it looks like for me, it will be a fair game between the Ateneo Sisterhood & the La Salle connection.

Major-Major Hangovers! & A Tribute To A Goddess

It's been 2 days after 'Venus Raj Day', the day Maria Venus Raj wow the international crowd being the 4th Runner-Up of Miss Universe. (Even Mr. Trump was impressed on Venus!) Who cannot forget the 'Major Major' answer she said? Ok, the question which was asked on Venus is a hard question to answer, even the international media can't answer this question too! A hard question to answer, but if you have the guts to answer the question, it's up to you. I'm not forcing you to answer the question, just answer this question, for yourself, if you have the guts to answer it, give it a shot. You will decide to answer the question or not. Take your time to answer that question since this question will reflect the unexpected moment of your dear life. You can answer the question or you will wait for the right time to answer it. To never forget the question, keep that in your mind or write it in a piece of paper or write it in your diary, journal or organizer. That question should not be forgotten.

Anyway, today, the goddess has arrived, Venus arrived home around today, even she was the 4th Runner Up on Ms. Universe, she was worth of a fighting goddess, surpassing controversies & unexpected moments that shocked her dear life. But she did not give up on retaining her crown. As she was chosen to be the representative of the Philippines to Ms. Universe, the Filipino Community in Las Vegas gave her a rock star-like treatment upon her arrival. When she shined at the coronation night of Ms. Universe, upon making it to the top 15, top 10 & top 5, she was the goddess who stopped time in the Pearl of the Orient. It was indeed true, something like last Tuesday was a 'Venus Raj Day' for the Filipinos. Even she did not won the crown, her fighting spirit to become a beauty queen is in her. Finally, i should admit that Venus has the fighting spirit & the beauty, worth for her which her name reminds us of a goddess. All hail to the goddess!

You guys still have a 'major-major' hangover? Oh please, control it. The goddess has just arrived. We're proud of you, Venus. You are the goddess who changed our lives for the better. Job well done.

Getting The Vic Zhou-Like Bed-Head As I Wait For The Blue Sky To Come

It was not until last Saturday when i decided to get a haircut. A Vic Zhou-inspired haircut. But somehow, i found out a lot of shocking updates about my hairdo. Like: I'M SUFFERING SPLIT-ENDS????? OMG!!!!! So, it looks like i have 2 big problems: Hair that lacks life & split ends. But there was more to that, mom told me that my hair is thick, so, it looks like i got the perfect haircut like a thin, Vic Zhou-like hairdo. This look will change the way i focus about hairdos. So, the next time i go to the salon & get a haircut, i should rather bring a picture of Vic Zhou, sporting his Hua Ze Lei-like hairdo, before he cut it short & making himself a Maui Villanueva clone. (Nah, Vic doesn't make the former UPIS & Higashiyama High School standout cry because Maui has a clone in a Taiwanese Pop Star & a member of the coolest Taiwanese Pop Group that started the Asian Drama Craze.) Like if Maui sees his reflection in the mirror, he sees not himself, but the image of someone who looks like him, but never been related to him, it was a clone who looks just like him. Don't worry, Maui-san, you will always be my crush. :)

It's not a piece of cake to get the perfect Vic Zhou-like bed-head. Borrowing my mom's curlers, rolling it using a roller brush, using hair products like styling clays, shine waxes & hair-gels & even tossing & turning while sleeping, i tried it all. But i was just doing this to find out if i could look like Vic while wearing in my Ateneo or La Salle gear. GAH~ I even said to myself last weekend that i was like Vic Zhou meets Nonoy Baclao? OMG! Not unless i looked to myself that i have the body of Jason 'Jumbo' Escueta. This is ridiculous. But i was doing my best, not really to impress, but to find what will i be looking like as i found myself to connect the missing links of my dear life. The first thing i found out that Ateneo has a link to my dear life is that i was born on the year the Ateneo Blue Eagles aimed it's first back-to-back crown, 21 years before Jai Reyes & company aimed the team's 2nd back-to-back crown, using the 'Back-2-Black' term as Ateneo De Manila University celebrates the 150 Years of celebrating excellence, deepening spirituality & building the nation, the colorful & fun sesquicentennial year. Was it ok for me to get Vic Zhou's hairdo but i didn't get his outfits, just ending up wearing Ateneo or La Salle outfitters, cheering for either the kids of Katipunan Avenue & Loyola Heights or the kids of Taft Avenue.
No, i don't want to look like Vic although i'm a girl, i just want to find what i want to know, getting Vic Zhou's haircut while wearing Ateneo or La Salle outfitters? Oh, it's not bad when i don Vic's hairdo while wearing an Ateneo or La Salle jersey. Although Vic Zhou loves to sing mellow songs, as he decided to get a haircut, he might realize that there was a basketball player from the kids of Taft Avenue who looks like him, major flaw? Maui Villanueva can't sing, can't dance, but can shoot hoops.

Simon Atkins: Horror King? Maui Villanueva The Hearthrob & All That La Salle

The next time you watch a horror flick, let me remind you, La Salle fans, i watched a horror flick yesterday w/ my mom & we were surprised on a familiar sight. SIMON ATKINS?! I almost dropped my jaw & my eyes were wide-open as i saw Simon-kun, but i admit he's more cute than scary. (Literally!) Ok, maybe he won't do that on Sunday since he could rather put a white blanket all over him & pretend to be a ghost, scaring Eric Salamat & the Ateneo Blue Eagles on their 2nd face-off. Ok, that was more of a not-so-scary sight from yesterday that could let me cheer in this way: D-L-S-U, ANIMO LA SALLE! But if i scale the rating of Simon's acting debut, 10 & above please. But when he's on the hard-court, he doesn't care if his non-shooting hand is injured. He aimed 3 pointers out of nowhere, like he could think that he's lucky his injured hand is not the hand he uses to shoot the ball.
Simon Atkins Memory Re-call: I admit i still have the hangover from the epic yet heroic UAAP Season 73 Opening Day, like time stopped for 1 hour? During the 'superheroes & team captains' parade, Simon developed some goosebumps, slight goosebumps that although he was the team captain of the host school. I guess he & Enchong Dee can't listen to each other during the parade due to screaming girls over the 2. (I'll tell about why i still have the jitters & hangovers from that event on the next entry.)

Curious mind: Who is that Archer who is wearing the Silverworks-DLSU Animo Dogtag? That was the question that came into my mind last Saturday, as i found out who he is, my heart skipped a beat, eyes become wide-open & i suddenly screamed because it was Maui Villanueva. It was like it's already summer in Japan, probably in Kyoto, or i should say, it's summer in Kyoto's Higashiyama Area. Maui's Japanese Superhero-like looks is a proof that he was chosen as 1 of the hardcourt heartthrobs for DLSU, just don't mind the eye-bags & just mind that he could rather make it to a Japanese Superhero series. It was not until last summer when i suddenly had another glimpse of Maui-san, his cuteness still rules in my mind & in my heart, he was my summer love in the height of the hot summer sun in April. That was during the pre-season tournaments, the songs that were playing in my head are somehow cheesy Asian pop tunes, probably Japanese, Korean or Chinese. Like playing those mellow Vic Zhou tunes when Maui is on the court. Ok, so, Maui is preferred that he looked like a Japanese Superhero & a Chinese Pop Star.

It looks like i'm welcome to La Salle territory.

A Few Days Before The 2nd Face-Off Of The Bitter-Sweet Rivals

"SALAMAT mga TIU-ng! May ARAO din kami. The wait won't be LONG, for we will be BAC-LAO. We shall build a MON-FORT like ZION that no JAI-Namite NORMAN can topple. Hip-Hip, YURI!"

That was the cheesiest Ateneo quote after i watched on YT an Ateneo-La Salle game from 3 seasons ago, after healing the wounds of Season 69 in Season 70 as the kids of Taft Avenue returns, the kids of Loyola Heights & Katipunan Avenue found out that it was not yet their time to shine. It was like the target was aimed before taking flight. But good thing, 5 big face-offs in UAAP Season 70 was a big time event for the return of the bitter-sweet rivalry. Season 70 perhaps was the season for the Blue Eagles to shine further, when Chris Tiu becomes the Team Captain, they knew that they only have one enemy. In the form of TY Tang & the Green Archers. But why i called Ateneo & La Salle as the 'bitter-sweet' rivals? When they are on the court, they are bitter, fighting for their school honors is what they do. But when they're not on the court, they are sweet like friends, i noticed that when Chris Tiu & JV Casio made it to Smart Gilas & they set aside their good 'ol College Basketball days of 2008. If Season 70 was the return of the bitter-sweet rivalry, that was crazy. Ateneo blew off 2 important games, the twice-to-beat advantage & the right to be in the finals, all taken by La Salle to fulfill a storybook-like happy ending. But the wounds of a nightmare from Season 69 is already healed, thanks to some players who came to Katipunan Avenue to take flight & unleash their Eagle fury under the watchful eyes of the Legendary Coach named Norman Augustus Black. (Who cannot forget the Kirk Long buzzer beater last August 30, 2007 just 2 days before his birthday?) When Chris Tiu received the call to lead the Hail Mary Squad, he never failed the call, he was like an Eagle spreading it's mighty wings & ready to take flight. Even if Season 70 was more of a bitter-sweet season, Ateneo finally knew who is their worst enemy, it will always be La Salle.

Every Archer needs an Eagle, Blue Skies on a clear day can have a clear view of the nature surrounded in Green & if you pass by either on Taft Avenue aka Archer Territory or Katipunan Avenue aka Eagle Territory, you will never know that your life will never be the same again when an arrow hit you or an Eagle dropped it's feather on the ground. In UAAP Season 71, it's Ateneo's turn to turn the tables as Chris Tiu takes his final flight as a Blue Eagle. As of today 4 players, 2 from the kids of Katipunan Avenue & Loyola Heights & 2 from the kids of Taft Avenue shined from their Season 71 debut as the future of this bitter-sweet rivalry. For the kids of Taft Avenue, watch out for La Salle Zobel Standout Joshua Webb & Higashiyama High School Breakout Player Maui Villanueva. For the kids of Katipunan Avenue & Loyola Heights, watch out for San Beda Breakout Player Nico Salva & NCAA Juniors MVP Ryan Buenafe from San Sebastian College. Their performance from Season 71 was more of a breakout performance. But this season, they stepped up & shined further as veterans. Season 71 was Ryan's breakout season, he won the Rookie Of The Year Tittle. Lucky guy.

Ateneo somehow dominated Season 72 for their Sesquicentennial Celebration, the record was like good ol' Season 71. Even there are only 2 Ateneo-La Salle face-offs, the cliffhanger game between Ateneo & FEU to end the elimination round was like a one helluva roller-coaster ride. Emotions gone wild & the feeling is less of a drama movie & more of action movie. Nico Salva got kicked out of the game dealing a one-game hiatus on the Final 4 game, Bacon Austria & Justin Chua suffered cuts on the right side of their faces (If they got it on the left, uh-oh, i think i remembered something.) & Jai Reyes prayed that a missed free throw from a FEU player will give them the record they got from Season 71 & the number 1 slot. Good thing Jai's prayers were answered. The finals was more of like an action-adventure feeling. Blue prevails Game 1, Red came from behind in Game 2 but in Game 3, the town is painted in Blue, AGAIN. Lock & loaded shots, Blue Eagles screaming on the top of their lungs for victory & Eric Salamat's epic salute to the 6th man, it looks like the Sesquicentennial Celebration of Ateneo becomes sweeter times 3 because after the UAAP, they prevailed in the Unigames & at the Philippine Collegiate Champions League. In 2008, the Blue Eagles ended 6 years of heartbreaks w/ a championship, last year, the Sesquicentennial Year become the best year ever as they go Back-2-Black. This year, history & domination is on their side, but it will not be easy.

As i draw this post to a close, the bitter-sweet rivals will walk on 2 different roads, one walks to the road to redemption, the other will walk to the road to domination. Even if there were road blocks & pot-holes are there in those roads, the bitter-sweet rivals can surpass it, trying to find the light at the end of each road, now, let's wait for Sunday, shall we?

It Feels Like 'My Monster Mom'

Today, the movie, 'My Monster Mom' tickles my mom's fancy since it's all about moms. A funny comedy movie that could give every mom a funny turn of life. But hey, i just realized that almost everyday of my entire life for 22 years, it feels like my mom is like the mom in 'My Monster Mom'! GAK! I was the oldest of 3 kids, so i feel like i was the 'Mama's Girl' since my mom & i are always at the house, attached to each other like siblings & friends. But there are times that i was the one who corrects each error my mom does, it's like covering up a mistake written on paper using correction tape or fluid. But hey, we always laugh if mom does a funny mistake & i kept asking her when she will get it right. But somehow, my mom is always my mom.

A cup of coffee is my mom's sweetest offer. It was not until December of last year where i discovered my love for coffee. The craziest Starbucks moment between me & my mom was on Vic Zhou's birthday aka Bonamana Day. June 9. My little brother is also there, we just arrived from ADMU & we need a snack break. Destination: Starbucks-Trinoma. It's not that bad that i ordered a Tall Cafe Latte. (I even want to order some cookies since i remember when i was in Sophomore Year HS, my classmate gave me a big yet chunky chocolate chip cookie from Starbucks!) My mom, little brother & i talked about our future. Maybe the next topic the 3 of us will talk will be about: Ah, slap-sticky moments including the UAAP games, i should rather order a Grande or Venti Cafe Mocha & Cookies on the side. Ok mom, if it wasn't for you, how can i drink coffee almost everyday?

Ok mom, there are times that i feel like we were in 'My Monster Mom', if you were a monster, you were like the monsters i've seen in Power Rangers. Gah~

Sweetest Things

Still in the height of the 'Gummy Worms & Oreo Cookies' hangover from last Thursday, a pre-game snack for ADU's Will Stinett to have the energy & the sugar rush that he needs for the game. I even thought about going back to my childhood memories to buy some candies at Candy Mix. Gummy Worms, Gummy Bears, all of the candies i enjoyed when i was a kid. I was even thinking about the next time i attend an Anime convention or enjoyed a shopping spree for Toku toys when i'm at SM Megamall. (The destination? Toy Kingdom-SM Megamall) Don't worry, i'll share to Auntie Misato some of the candies i got at Candy Mix since a box of Pocky is not enough to crave a sugar rush.
Ok, so my cravings for Pocky are still on, good thing last Saturday, we moved the TV that we got last weekend to the bedroom. Good thing i can watch the UAAP Games while in bed on boring Thursday afternoons or the weekends w/o disturbing outside! Yes, last weekend was the craziest of them all because we got a 2nd TV for ourselves, i got a new Lacoste shirt, a black, grey & white striped pouch & a copy of Rebound Magazine. That was the sweetest day ever for the 2nd half of the year 2010. Even the rain was somewhat a killer, i didn't brought my favorite green jacket when i have to go to North Olympus in Fairview, QC for my uncle's b-day & ending quite soaked in the rain. Super Junior's new track, 'No Other' was the song playing in my head after 2 months of playing SuJu's energetic track, 'Bonamana' playing in my head even when i'm at Ateneo De Manila University at Vic Zhou's birthday last June 9. The date was August 8. Lunch was somehow a feast since roasted Liempo & roasted chicken was a perfect pair w/ rice, gravy & some Coke products. (Gah, i forgot that i want to look like Ryukendo's Kenji Narukami/Ryukendo now the rainy days are on.) Missing Link: Haircut!

Sweet, i might have a haircut this Thursday just a few days before the anticipated Ateneo-La Salle round 2 face-off this Sunday. Ok, so i'm ready, everything will be sweet.

Sinfully Sweet Yet Hungry For Something New

This is not weird, is it ok to eat gummy worms & Oreo cookies as a pre-game ritual? Haha, maybe it needs some sugar rush to be ready for the game. But i found out about this yesterday during the pre-game of the nail-biting cliffhanging game between Adamson & FEU. It was Adamson's Will Stinett who has this sweet pre-game ritual to munch in some gummy worms & Oreo cookies before each game. Gah, if i was Will, i might be in a sugar rush right now. But i guess this is my pre-game ritual before cheering for either ADMU or DLSU for their heart-stopping games. So, what should i do then? ARGH! Buy some sweet stuff at the supermarket like Pocky, Collon, Caplico, Nissin Wafer Sticks, Voice & some snacks that i tried when i was in High School. But what about the drinks? Maybe Pepsi, Coke Light, Coke Zero or Tang will count. Plus gummy worms? Gosh, i guess i have no choice but to go at Candy Mix to buy some assorted candies & gummies, it's either Candy Mix or Aji Ichiban, ah, cheeky childhood memories are coming back to me right now.

Ok, i just found out that KFC is now selling a UAAP Snack Box, hmm, i was even thinking about trying it & texting my favorite Auntie to tell her that i give it 2 thumbs up & a smile. Perfect w/ Pepsi, of course. There are no collisions going on between Pepsi endorsers & present-day UAAP players from ADMU & DLSU. I love trying new stuff that are somehow seen in fastfood chains aside from collecting toys which are free in a kids meal. But sometimes, pulling out an image on trying yummy promoted snack boxes or free stuff is hard. I don't want to end up looking like an idiot. But hey, i'm even wishing that if i tried the KFC-UAAP Snack Box, it's like i'll be looking out for this on the upcoming UAAP Seasons ahead aside from watching out the Krispy Kreme UAAP Final 4 Donuts. (The Ateneo Donut is a must-munch, Original Krispy Kreme Glazed Donut slightly glazed w/ chocolate on top & topped w/ blue & white-colored candy sprinkles. I wish i can try the Ateneo Donut & HOPEFULLY, the La Salle Donut. This time, go Animo when the Original Krispy Kreme Glazed Donut that is slightly glazed w/ chocolate on top is sprinkled w/ some green & white-colored candy sprinkles! I wish i could munch a dozen of them! 6 for Ateneo & 6 for La Salle! A can or bottle of Pepsi is a perfect match, but wearing a Maui Villanueva or Ryan Buenafe jersey is optional.)

Get ready for some sweet treats as the 2nd round of UAAP Season 73 is already on, more than gummy worms & Oreo cookies, more than the Krispy Kreme donuts or a KFC-UAAP Snack Box & Pepsi of course, your hunger for college basketball is already filled. Ateneo-La Salle round 2? Wait it on August 22, get ready for that!

Haircuts, Temporary Tattoos & First La Salle Gear

What happens on me after i got a spankin', Vic Zhou-like haircut & i suddenly realized that i have these Maui Villanueva-like eye-bags? Oh boy, i even want to buy a Garnier Under-eye Brightening Roll-On since the eye-bags that i got bothers me a lot since 2004 due to sleeping late. Ok, everyone in my family from my mom to my dad to my siblings calls me Maui. Do you think i have the so-called Maui Villanueva Syndrome? Maybe! But i guess not, having Maui's eye-bags doesn't bother me to have the uber-cool La Salle gear. But about the first La Salle gear for me? Maybe the DLSU shirt my little sister has from last year. I used to have a DLSU Cap which i always used for PE Class when i was a 6th Grader, trying to get serious on watching the UAAP Games. But not until July of this year since i respected the decision of Cousin Ace to study at DLSU for college, because there were 2 things that makes him want to go to Taft Avenue which is now known as 'Green Archers Territory': One, some of his friends are there & two, Auntie Maya's house is near to DLSU. If that's what Cousin Ace wants, i respect him. I'm not really just looking after to have the DLSU Gear that includes the new Adidas-La Salle Centennial Jacket that Simon Atkins wore on UAAP Season 73 Opening Day or Animoism shirts or souvenirs related to La Salle's centennial year or some Adidas-La Salle licensed products & team wear that was launched since 2008. If that's what Cousin Ace wants to do, he should follow his heart well. If that's what he wants, it's his decision & i respect him. So maybe, aside from being an Ateneo fan of 3 years, i'm also back as a La Salle fan, since a decade ago.

The article 'Mad Dogs & Joshua Webb' on the latest issue of Rebound Magazine hooked me, it's not just about the life of La Salle's 'Spider Webb', but it's also about how he plays his game w/ the Green Archers. I was surprised that he got 3 tattoos & 2 are slightly seen like the tattoo on his left wrist that means 'freedom' written in Arabic, it was slightly like a tribal sign since the details were something like seen in tribal-inspired arts. While the 2nd one is like a bible verse written on his lower right arm, Joshua 1:5. I wrote down the verse on my Starbucks 2010 planner so whenever i need some divine intervention, i know what verse i should hold on to. That was the time i got started to get hooked again on temporary tattoos. I remember back last June where i didn't got a hard time to buy the Card Captor Sakura-Gifts of Magic toys at Jollibee a month before the UAAP Games, i got the Card Captors Mystic Tattoo first followed by the Kero Magic Noteroll. I haven't used the tattoos for a while but i'll try to find the right timing to use it. I remember i got hooked on temporary tattoos when i was a 7th Grader & i used to collect Digimon playing cards back then. Gosh, good memories from grade school never fades i suppose.
& now, about the haircut, this Sunday, the week before the 2nd face/off between bitter-sweet rivals Ateneo & La Salle that will rock the big dome, i'll end up having a Vic Zhou haircut. The thing is, will it be like Vic Zhou? Or i might live up to my KRDK daydreams & ending up looking like Kit Taylor? It's ok. What's the big deal anyway? (The haircut of Vic Zhou, the eye-bags of Maui Villanueva & the body of Jason 'Jumbo' Escueta on a girl like me? Can i say Retikano & Halikinu? YEAH-BOH!) Missing links: Joshua Webb's tattoos on his arms using temporary tattoos & singing either too much F4 songs or Joshua Webb's favorite song, 'I Wanna Be Your Dog' by Iggy Pop & The Stooges. The question is, where's the Pepsi, Coke Light, Coke Zero & some Pocky on the side? Never mind. Came Sunday, Vic, Maui & Jumbo are the men of the moment for me.

Making The (Hair) Cut

After all of the struggles & cancellations of the date when will i go to the salon to get a haircut is finally landed on the unexpected. The Sunday before the anticipated Ateneo-La Salle round 2 game. The cut i want to get? A Vic Zhou-inspired haircut that Vic Zhou aka Zai-Zai sported from the Meteor Garden days to some F4 music videos, probably in the 'Meteor Rain' MTV. But it took me some time to get that haircut since there was a time my mom doesn't think that the haircut i want to have will fit me, but i said i just wanted to give it a try. After that, i'll wake up every morning & staring myself on the mirror, finding out that i have a messy bed-head. (But i guess i was more like Kit Taylor.) Never mind, maybe if i want to maintain this hairdo, i might end up having a long & layered hairdo! :) Bright idea.

Finally, time to make the biggest haircut moment, ever! The cut is on, 1 week before the Ateneo-La Salle round 2 game.

Follow The Rolling Pepsi Can

It wasn't since earlier when i surf the Pepsi Shop website & i found out the stuff that is sold there are perfect for the certified Pepsi afficionado, i was one of them, since 7 years ago, a long story to be exact. During the time Taiwanese Pop Group F4 dominated the scene 4 years before Chris Tiu of the Ateneo Blue Eagles came in & dominated the era of Chinese-looking boys. ARGH, during that time, i was getting started to collect some Pepsi-F4 Posters, notepads, glasses & an Ask For More VCD which i didn't stop singing & playing it since that time. But i never had an F4-inspired hairdo during that time. But if i do that this year, i would get a Vic Zhou-like hairdo while wearing a Maui Villanueva or Ryan Buenafe jersey from 2008. So crazy, i could even think that the song i'm singing is not 'Ask For More' by F4. What would be the song i was singing? Maybe memorizing the Ateneo or La Salle Alma Mater song. (Jerseys of Joshua Webb & Nico Salva are surely included, 2008 version only.) But it was not until 2002 back then when i almost gobbled up 1 bottle of Pepsi. 2003, blame it on a boy named Vic Zhou. 2008? Blame it on 4 kids namely Maui Villanueva, Joshua Webb, Ryan Buenafe & Nico Salva from La Salle & Ateneo.
Maybe i wish there could be some family lunch &/or dinners w/ a 1.5 PET bottle of Pepsi on the side as a drink. If that happens, it will be fun. I miss the times that whenever we buy the groceries, i could buy a can of Pepsi, a bottle of Tropicana Twister in either Orange or Lychee-Apple & there are even times that i buy a bottle of Pepsi Fire & Pepsi Ice during the year 2005. Last year, i drank more than 5 glasses of Pepsi in one month? WHAT? It's quite not equal than losing my voice, ALMOST after days of cheering the Ateneo Blue Eagles in their UAAP Games over their opponents including La Salle. I already know how to draw the old & new Pepsi logos. (I can do that while singing 'Ask For More' by F4 or my soon-to-be-favorite track, 'I Wanna Be Your Dog' aka the so-called Joshua Webb theme by Iggy Pop & The Stooges.) The truth is, i founded a club at school which was established since 2004, the once no-name club but the club got it's name by March 2006 is known as 'Club Pepsi', a club composed of kids who are somehow cool yet simple, drinking Pepsi is just an option, but to be a member of this club? Simple: Always have fun w/ your life. Don't forget to get over your problems. You don't have to be a hard-core Pepsi drinker to be a member of this club. :)

Right now, as i try to follow the rolling Pepsi can, i might find out the can is rolling on it's way to Katipunan Avenue or Taft Avenue, like when my little brother punned me saying he might kick me in the butt all the way to those places where Ateneo & La Salle are located. But maybe in the end, i might get the rolling Pepsi can & keeping it for myself, knowing that my life will never be the same again as i chug down some Pepsi.

Wow-Wow-Lee Or Thank You, Salamat Sunday!

Ok, Ateneo won their game over UE to end the first round, right. The game was quite like last season since it was a see-saw game. But in the end, Ateneo prevailed over UE. It looks like Eric Salamat leads the Blue Parade for that one. Came 2nd round, who will be Ateneo's victim? LA SALLE? Whoa, a slight deja vu from season 72, maybe not. It might be like Season 70 all over again. Because Ateneo & La Salle are in ranks 2-4 in the standings w/ FEU sweeping the first round w/ 7-0 being the first. Can they do what UE did 3 years ago? Find out as UAAP Season 73 unfolds the 2nd round came Thursday.

Yesterday was slight crazy, more than last Saturday where i could think that it will never be a boring Saturday again since i decided to watch Ryukendo. (Just like what i did on watching The Justirizers, even during the hype of UAAP Season 72 last year, i watched it from start to end even there were 2 episodes aired during the final week of July, 2 weeks before the anticipated Ateneo-La Salle end of first round face-off that has some hints of yellow aside from the usual blue & green.) Ok, i will watch Ryukendo from start to end, every Saturday, hours before the UAAP games. But about yesterday, thanks to my 1 of my favorite aunties & my little brother. A black & white small pouch & a copy of Rebound magazine w/ the Ateneo Blue Eagles on the cover. I gone bonkers when my little brother bought me a copy of Rebound magazine that it took me a few weeks to get it. But i guess the hardwork payed off. :) Anyway, i was even more surprised yesterday when i found out from a phone conversation between my mom & my auntie that we will have a 2nd TV! OMG! So, it looks like we need to replace the old TV that was stuck in the bedroom for almost 2 years. Anyway, so i can watch the UAAP Games, Ryukendo, Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, Black & White, Makibaoh, Digimon Frontier & many more w/o getting bothered or going to the living room. Now, all we need to buy is a universal remote control, antenna & a small DVD player. (So i can watch my favorite DVD'S! Now where is my Pocky?)

Ok, what can i say, everyone? Wow-Wow-Lee or Thank You, Salamat for yesterday? Never mind..... I'll just say. Um.....

Just Tee Me: The T-Shirt Experience

It's all about t-shirts, t-shirts & nothing but t-shirts w/ interesting prints or statements. Just because it all started earlier this morning.....

I begged my little sister, Puffy to wear my orange-colored Meteor Garden tee since she raided my under-bed drawer for t-shirts. (If she does, she will be the 2nd person who will wear it.) But she didn't. Does this mean i will always lend it to dad? Uh, never mind.
Ok, so i decided not to wear my white-colored 'I Love Ateneo' tee from Get Blued (that my little sister bought back last January 2009) which Kirk Long autographed for my 22nd birthday this year. The last time i wore the shirt before Kirk autographed it was on the New Year. (The longest time i wore that shirt in one day, ever!) I just decided to have it autographed instead by you know who? Of course, the Ateneo Blue Eagles! The best thing an Ateneo fan ever had is had it's Ateneo-related poster or shirt or anything related to Ateneo, autographed. But one more thing, i might have my little sister's ADMU shirts which are somewhat big! Wow, so i won't wear the wrong shirt on the right event.

Reminder to everyone: Never wear the wrong shirt on the right event!

Blue-Colored Shoes & Not Repeating A First Round Nightmare From Last Year

For the Ateneo Blue Eagles, they don't want to repeat a nightmare from last year that shocked them. Those blue-colored shoes are worth it, 2 players shine further w/ their game-high & career-high points & they're now in the stage of improvement. But hey, some players of the Ateneo Blue Eagles wants to heir the thrones of their 3 star players from last season. But the weird part, each throne has more than 1 heir. But we have no choice, they're stepping up to improve their performances.

Heirs to the throne of Jai Reyes: Magic Tiongson, Eman Monfort, Eric Salamat
Heirs to the throne of Nonoy Baclao: Nico Salva, Ryan Buenafe, Frank Golla
Heirs to the throne of Rabeh Al-Hussaini: Justin Chua, Jumbo Escueta
(The list is not yet final, just because every player of the Blue Eagles wants to be the heir of their 3 star players from last year!)
I noticed something from the game yesterday, some of the Blue Eagles are wearing blue-colored b-ball shoes. (As like last Sunday, some of the Green Archers from DLSU wears green-colored b-ball shoes) but it was just like the game during St. Ignacius day aka Ateneo Day, the 2nd half was the key for the Blue Eagles to win the game, a lightened improvement more than their sorry loss game against DLSU. The race to the 2nd round is quite close as this weekend draws the end of the 1st round. But about the Blue-colored shoes, it didn't remind me of the blue-colored Nike Hyperdunks of last year that has an Ateneo colorway. Well, never mind, everything changes, same thing as the basketball shoes. Oh, i nearly forgot, Nico Salva got a jersey nightmare because someone pulled Nico's jersey! But good thing the jersey got repaired before the kick-off of the 2nd half. What a slight boo-boo.

Anyway, Ateneo just don't want to repeat the nightmare of July 26, 2009. The nightmare has just forgotten. Good thing the Blue Eagles did the unthinkable.

Art Of Cheering & Supporting The UAAP's Legendary Rivals

Finding or buying materials & tools to cheer for your favorite UAAP teams? Surely be a light or heavy splurge. But cheering your favorite team? Definitely priceless.

I remember my little brother agreed w/ me to bring a small whiteboard, blue & black whiteboard markers & whiteboard eraser as i got involved in the world of cheering. It looks like what i need to bring next along w/ my cheering gear is my autograph gear & some essentials to support my favorite UAAP teams. But somehow, as of today, which side where i will be? On the side of blue or the side of green? But maybe on both sides? It could be indeed true.

Last Saturday, my little sister told me to stop wearing the worn-out Sports USA Ateneo shirt of 9 years because it was all out torn-out! She said she will buy a new ADMU shirt for me so whenever i watch an ADMU game at home, i'll wear it instead, pairing it w/ either my favorite blue plaid pajama pants or my little sister's short-short shorts. (She is always complaining at me why am i wearing it, but i said, i got no choice!) But here comes the rainy days, i would rather even wear my blue-colored Adidas hooded sweater since it's actually on my favorite color, blue! Next in line, it will be La Salle i guess because i was wishing & praying hard that my cousin will make it to DLSU, i even wished & prayed that he will surpass the DLSUCET.
& suddenly, i got a memory recall from the cheeky times of 7th Grade, just because always on PE Class, i could always wear the Sports USA white-colored DLSU OR ADMU shirt. My classmates & i could always have a crazy time talking about nothing but the UAAP's legendary rivals since 2000, since the 6th Grade when i got started to watch the UAAP games on Studio 23. It was been almost a decade when i got started to watch the UAAP games, but hey, the UAAP games were fun! Watching it live will be the best experience ever.

Taiwanese Drama Recall

Looks like the wave of Taiwanese drama shows are now on a major wave, LIKE WHAT? It's not like 7 years ago. But hey, maybe aside from Digimon Frontier, Power Rangers Mystic Force, Ultraman Max, Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, Akuei & Gatchinpo, Digimon Tamers, Digimon Savers & of course, college b-ball leagues like the NCAA & the UAAP, i'd better get some fix of watching some Taiwanese drama shows like the first time i watched Meteor Garden. More cheekier than last summer's big boo-boo where i let my dad wear my orange-colored Meteor Garden tee for his boys night out w/ his friends.

It wasn't since until last year. Jerry Yan's medical melancholy C-Drama, The Hospital aired on Studio 23 3 days before Jai Reyes & the Ateneo Blue Eagles defend the UAAP Crown for the last game for UAAP Season 72. Major treatment for me, sort of. This year? Way too far from 2 years ago where i need to change channels, watching either Meteor Garden or the UAAP Thursday Games. 2:30PM, get ready as Ken Zhu revives the ancient Chinese Detective Chu Yung Xiang in The Legendary Knight. 3:00pm, let Vic Zhou cook up a feast as he plays the role of a chef in Magic Taste. 3:30PM, join Jerry Yan as he brings you to Love City, get ready to fall in love & play the music of romance. But wait up, i found out that Vic Zhou's police drama-comedy series that become a hit in Taiwan will now air here! Watch Black & White by Monday, August 9! (If you watch that series by Monday, check out Vic's Maui Villanueva-like hairdo! Does the youngest member of F4 resembles the Green Archer who plays forward, dons jersey#5 & does a buzzer-beater against UST in his rookie year 2 years ago because of his new hairdo?) Phew, here we go again.
It looks like i'll do my best to learn Mandarin, that's for sure. I'll make Justin Chua proud. :)

Bacon Austria Jokes, The Mystery Has Revealed & A Hangover From The Opening Ceremonies Of UAAP Season 73

The biggest revelation i ever told to my dad yesterday, i never had bacon for breakfast for a few years. Well, it is for real after i realized that i never had a 'bacon & eggs' breakfast'. But yesterday, dad just bought some bacon for breakfast! Whoa! All because of a cheeky joke related to Bacon Austria. (Mmmmmmmmmm.......... Bacon!) So, i guess sometimes, i should have a Bacon & Eggs breakfast sometimes. Well, i got to admit that Bacon Austria is 1 of the Ateneo players that should step up, i wish his attitude needs a slight change so he can be a better player. There's always room for improvement, Bacon-kun. :)

The mystery is already revealed, after days & weeks of curious minds knowing what the 'Mystery Shampoo & Conditioner' is, i found out it was the all-new Pantene. I guess thru the years, Pantene changes it's packaging & logo design. But they still stick to the same Logo design that was launched in 2006 but the packaging was different. The unexpected part, i was using Pantene when i was in Grade School back in the 90's. The unexpected was in High School back in the year 2004. My teacher told me that i should use Pantene Volume & Fullness since my hair is limp & lifeless although i have thick hair. I was shocked, so i decided to follow my teacher's lesson which is slightly far from academics. Right now, i was watching some past & present Pantene commercials on You Tube. So, i would rather say this: You Try, You Decide. Go to www.pantene.com.ph to find out.
& now, it was almost a month but, i have a hangover from the simple yet heroic UAAP Season 73 Opening Ceremonies! I remember when my little siblings, my mom & i watched the entire Opening Ceremonies proper. But i guess i can't get over what i just saw there. It's a total heroic eye-candy. Gosh, i guess i can't get over that again & again, even until the end of this season & this year. But somehow, that's the best UAAP Season 73 Opening Ceremonies, ever! But there are some conventional ways that should add a new twist, like instead of the usual teams & muses parade, what about superheroes & team captains parade? Bright idea.

Bouncing Back, Revelation Of A Mystery & Signing A Petition

Bouncing Back: Ateneo bounced back after their sorry last-minute loss to arch-rival La Salle last week when Ateneo kicks in to Overdrive or shifted in Turbo on the 2nd half of their game yesterday against NU who is one of the dark-horses for this UAAP Season. Retaining their tittle as 1 of the powerhouse teams in the UAAP, the Blue Eagles never wasted a precious second to aim the shot. Team Captain Eric 'Salute-Tatorian' Salamat & American Kirk Long does the damage for the Blue Eagles as they got some back-up from Nico Salva, Art De La Cruz, Emman Monfort, Ryan Buenafe, Frank Golla, Jason 'Jumbo' Escueta & Justin Chua. As what Ateneo Athletics Director Ricky Palou said, 'Just leave them behind, keep playing.' Good thing the Blue Eagles won on St. Ignacius Day, but hey, the game was a blast after all.

Extra note: My little brother agreed w/ my idea to bring a small whiteboard & some whiteboard markers by the time we will watch the UAAP Games, if the venue will be at the Araneta Coliseum, i wish it should be an Ateneo game against 1 of the 6 UAAP teams & it should be headed next by a La Salle game also against 1 of the 6 UAAP teams, the Ateneo-La Salle games are somehow the 'hottest ticket in the UAAP Universe' since the tickets are sold like hotcakes & they were sold out, FAST! So, i'll be just waiting for the tickets came 2nd round.
Mystery Revelation: Today is August 1, right? So, if you were one of the girls like me who are curious what is that 'Mystery Shampoo & Conditioner' which is been a hit in 40 countries & tried by 150 women. So, today is the revelation day. Follow this rule: You Try, You Decide. But somehow, maybe i will get my hands on the mystery shampoo & conditioner sampler for this coming week. I wish. I'll tell you guys about the revelation on the next post.

Signing A Petition: As my usual habit on checking out the entries posted on the official Ateneo fanblog tittled, 'Nonoy For President': http://nonoyforpresident.blogspot.com/ I stumble upon a post that lets the fans of Ateneo to sign a petition for Rafael 'Ael' Banal, son of former Blue Eagles Coach/Present Alaska Aces Assistant Coach Joel Banal. But if you're an Ateneo fan & you're curious about the petition related to Ael-chan, go to this site: http://www.petitiononline.com/aelbanal/petition.html Ateneo fans, it's never to late to sign this petition for 1 of the star players of the Blue Eaglets! Ael should be still on the Blue Side!
