A Primer Before The July 24 Game Between Ateneo & La Salle: Animo Wishing, Maui's Making More Waves & The Kit Taylor In Justin Chua

Yesterday, i almost entered the breaking point of breaking down, but i didn't. It was a roller-coaster of events swirled in one day. As usual, i ignored a phone call in a silent way. But good thing i cheered myself up by watching some Power Rangers clips that i put on a set of playlists in my YT Channel. It was like it's been a long while since i haven't watch the PR clips after i stumble upon on a funny PR GIF. Good grief, those memories of watching the Power Rangers surely never fades for me. (I watched some clips from PR Turbo since it took me the entire month of December last year to watch some clips from that PR series since the last time i watched it was last 1999! Huh? Are you kidding me? No, i knew it.) But came 2-6pm of yesterday, UAAP mode is on. Let's get the lowdown on the 2 games before the Blue-Green Face-off this Saturday.

First Game: Ateneo vs. UST (Ateneo wins. Best Player: Justin Shaun Chua)
It looks like Justin is Kit Taylor/KR Dragon Knight in this game during the last quarter of the game. The Former Chiang Kai Shiek player scored 18 points during the final quarter where the Blue Eagles needs to surpass against the UST Growling Tigers. But it looks like Justin 'vented' the Growling Tigers to help the Blue Eagles to win in fashion. Helping Justin to win the game for the Blue Eagles are Frank Golla, Jumbo Escueta & Art De La Cruz. (The veterans also helped up to give the Blue Eagles the lead but it was Justin who shined further.) But it looks like Nico Salva got a bad facial cut because a UST player hits Nico in the face, fortunately, he is ok. *phew* I even found out that even since the past decade, UST's Jeric Teng & Ateneo's Justin Chua were bitter rivals in High School. But it looks like in College, it becomes more fierce than ever. Gong Xi, Justin!

Second Game: La Salle vs. UE (La Salle wins. Best Player: Alvin Joseph 'Maui' Villanueva)
Kudos to new DLSU Head Coach Dindo Pumaren since his new game-plan, the sticky defense system puts DLSU on top to win over Coach Dindo's former team, UE. Although Maui didn't surpass the score of Team Captain Simon Atkins which is 20 points from opening day win over UP, Maui makes giant waves to keep the Archers on top during the entire game proper. But Maui gets some back-up from his fellow Archers like Ferdinand, Paco Paredes (who really has the game of his life, even he's just a rookie.) Luigi De La Paz, Yutien Andrada & Maui's former team-mate from UPIS, Sam Marata. From the 1st to the final quarter, the Archers were all out, kinda reminds me of the opening day face-off against UP. But aside from Maui, let's give Paco Paredes a big applause because even he's a rookie, he just don't give UE a chance to reduce La Salle's lead to single digits. (Like where did he came from? A commentator said.) So, it looks like the Archers are on their way to the road to redemption.
Speaking of La Salle, my Auntie on my mom's side gets some help from my little sister Puffy who is on her graduating year in Ateneo, my cousin Ace is prepping up to take the ACET & the DLSUCET since he's now on his final year at San Beda Alabang. I was even wishing & praying that he will make it to DLSU. It reminds me of what my mom said back a few weeks ago during the Emotional Dramatic Tuesday Night of my life. So this means, aside from Ateneo goodies, La Salle goodies is waiting in the wings (& arrows!) Ok, we have a few days to go before the biggest game ever. Ateneo vs. La Salle. Who's ready for the rivalry?
