No Ordinary Holiday Weekend

I thought i'll be just stuck at the salon on a sunny-rainy-cloudy Monday morning/mid-afternoon, finding out that it's the last day of the long weekend that did start as early as Friday. I was at the salon, getting a haircut, after my mom told me that my 'do looked not fit for me, so she told me to get a haircut. As usual, i suggested a cute Vic Zhou-inspired haircut that can be changed from a simple bob to a sexy bed-head, like changing the hairstyle of a Taiwanese Pop Star to a Japanese Super Sentai or Power Rangers hero. Just even found lessons of getting the perfect hairdo like using hair gum even it's sticky. So it looks like i have to borrow my little brother's hair clay or buy one for myself since i'm vain of getting the perfect bed-head. As i see myself in the mirror, the hairstylist started to cut my hair, snipping & cutting using the sharp blades of the barber's shears. From a thick shoulder-length hair, it's now a short layered bob like i usually want to have, following what my relatives said that short hair is manageable. So, i need to follow what my relatives said, don't worry, i'll follow what my mom says on having a long, layered hairdo.

It's been a crazy long weekend for me & it did start last Sunday when i went out to the malls after my auntie invites us for lunch & shopping at Trinoma. Lunch at Gerry's Grill was great, Grilled Tuna Belly is the best, paired w/ white rice & Chopsuey, my drink is Coke Zero of course because that was my drink of the moment for the entire 2010. I bought myself a hotdog pillow so i can good night sleeps, bought that at Landmark. So, i just found out for myself that this is the craziest long weekend ever, more than the past long weekends that falls on the end of November. Time flies fast, December is on by tomorrow.

Vintage Thursdays With Mom & Black Weekend Must-Watch: PR Samurai Striker Trailer

Yesterday, mom gave me a compact sewing kit w/ mirror. Hey, i have seen this almost everyday on the dining table after i watched something on TV about a compact sewing kit. But it feels like it's not like last year's Shabby Chic Thursday where my mom gave her some of her accessories & wallets. This year, she gave me some or even most of her bags that was given by her beloved sister & one of my favorite Aunties. I remember one week ago, on a Thursday, i was still in bed when i heard something from mom that she will give me her black tote bag that she bought one year ago at SM. She only used it once, during last year's Christmas i admit. So, i got no choice but to use it & fill in my stuff in there. (Perfect to fit a cute Power Rangers Morpher/Cellphone like the Overdrive Tracker from PR Operation Overdrive & Cell Shift Morpher from PR RPM/Racing Performance Machines.) But what should it be included? The cute cellphone/morpher from PR Samurai Striker. It would be interesting to have morpher-cellphones in a chic tote bag, ei? & if mom continued to gave me some of her stuff, i'll end up reminding myself of Blair Waldorf. Good grief!

Today, i just watched the trailer for PR Samurai Striker that will be aired next year on Nickelodeon-US. (After the next 7 PR Teams that was aired on ABC & Jetix in the US since 2003. But in the Philippines, the Power Rangers is aired in ABS-CBN, Studio 23 & Cartoon Network on the Toonami programing block. since 2004.) What a way to start the black weekend right where everyone is getting started to feel the Christmas spirit as the start of the long weekend, everyone is hitting the malls to shop for gifts & stuff. I watched the trailer & i was stunned & amazed because the cute Red Ranger boy there, he reminds me of Chase Crawford of Gossip Girl! OMFG! Or maybe, Dan Ewing during PR RPM. But i have to wait for next year for that since it become a curious thought rushing in my head. But for now, enjoy watching this clip first!

Ok guys, let's enjoy the final days of November as we embrace December.

My Ateneo-La Salle Girl, My Power Rangers Girl

I guess i have this feeling that i want to watch My Amnesia Girl, i'm sure this is one funny movie, the movie theme song could be an LSS for me. But why? Maybe i would admit i'm a girl who has this weird amnesia of forgetting the one thing i loved since i'm still exploring who i am while growing up. In other words, i would rather ask Vic Zhou 'who u?' Because instead of staring a pic of an F4 boy who has this famous bedhead which he cut it short & make Maui Villanueva of the DLSU Green Archers cry. I look after this Power Rangers cute boy who reminds me of..... not Vic Zhou, but Justin Chua of the ADMU Blue Eagles. (minus the deep scar on his face that you would think that Justin-han is getting caught in a clash either in the dance floor of the disco w/ Lei's pals or the hard-court of the Araneta Coliseum against good ol' La Salle.) Forget the Dao Ming Shi-Xi Men Disco Rumble thing that ends in a disaster. Let's think how Joshua Webb gave Bacon Austria a big kick, you know when it comes on the Ateneo-La Salle games, anything can happen. Even a fried chicken could be a fried eagle according to a Green Archer's mind.

Shocker, Simon Atkins' first horror movie is re-aired, again? Wrong timing! The Ateneo Blue Eagles are up on the PCCL Sweet 16 & it looks like it's another Ateneo-La Salle Scary Event because the Team Captain of the host school for this season's UAAP Games are ready to scare the kids of Katipunan Avenue with his eyeliner-&-foundation-laid face, scaring Eric Salamat & his pals. Nico Salva's goosebumps are on because it looks like this is the new side of the legendary rivalry in the UAAP. But what's more shocking? Hmm, i've watched a bunch of Ryan Buenafe Videos on You Tube related on his performance since his UAAP debut 2 years ago. The magical, mystical, overdriven, furious, geared-up (Say any Power Rangers-related morphing puns here.) 3-pointer makes the Ateneo Gallery including the so-called Buenafans & Buenafriends scream. He kept his promise since last year's bonfire. As Ryan stretched his jersey, showing the Ateneo name, his team-mates came in. Nico gave him a hug as he rushed from Ryan's back. Eric came in next to give his a tight bear-hug. But Bacon? He gave Ryan a hug & a kiss in the cheek. (Nico was shocked?????) It looks like Bacon is going to be Nico's rival for Ryan. Oh no. Crazy Bromance Story held in the UAAP Season 73 Finals Game 2, what a must-watch.
Oh well, it's like for me, i better wait for UAAP Season 74 & of course, Power Rangers Samurai Striker. A must-watch for an excitng year where the best super-heroes & the best college cagers dominate the upcoming year.

A Tekken Affair

What happens when me & my siblings ended up on playing Tekken? It's going to be crazy. I suppose i decided to beg my beloved Auntie to buy me a DVD of the live-action movie of the hit video game series which i admit, it was a must-watch after i had an instant crush w/ John Foo, the Irish-Chinese cutie who played the role of Jin Kazama. Surely enough, after we receive the PS2 from our Auntie, we decided to give it a shot & play the games, surely, Tekken is in the list, but it's no ordinary Tekken, it's Tekken 5! But surely enough, i'll try to buy the other games at Greenhills including the other Tekken series. But somehow, playing Tekken w/ the siblings is surely fun after all, not unless we know our favorite characters. So, my little sister has found some while i found some, but for one character, we love it like my love for Korean food & Kimchi! Now, let's talk about our favorite characters in Tekken.

My little bro's favorite Tekken characters that he mostly use are Hwoarang & Law. (Here's a fun fact, Hwoarang is a Korean! So, it's like my little brother eats Kimchi or Dolsot Bibimpap while playing Tekken 5!) But for me, i also love to use Hwoarang but i prefer on the girls. Like Asuka Kazama (which is my all-time favorite!), Ling Xiaoyu & the Williams sisters (Anna & Nina). For the boys? Jin Kazama, Hwoarang, Lei Wulong & Lee. So, it looks like i really got hooked on Tekken. But the bad news, i have 2 defeats on Tekken 5! So, i got no choice on finding out how can i get my first win. Got to practice my hands on controlling the characters of my choice for now so i can get the first win.

Ateneo & Boukenger Engagement

Color of the moment: BLUE. I would do the Blue Eagle The King Cheer since this color has a significance to my dear life as of 3 years ago. Hmm, maybe the color of Blue has a different significance for me right now after i heard the news that Prince William is already engaged to his long-time GF Kate Middleton. The ring is actually a sapphire-&-diamond ring which is also the same ring Prince Charles use to say 'will you marry me?' to Princess Diana. Now, the engagement ring become an instant hit & every girl wants to have that ring. Dad even asked me if i want to go to London to see the Royal Wedding for next year. I would even think about that, but having the replica of the engagement ring, it will be a must-have, even i don't have a boyfriend for 22 years, being the long-time member of the No Boyfriend Since Birth Society Group For Girls. After hearing the news about the ring, a jewelry store in NYC received orders for the replica of the ring. It looks like every girl want to get engaged in a ring that created the buzz for the biggest royal wedding ever, sorry girls, Prince William is going to be married next year.

& now the reason why i want to have the ring that created the buzz of the moment. Maybe i was still stuck in these crazy thoughts in my mind about 2 things: Ateneo De Manila University & Go Go Sentai Boukenger. That was crazy, i even told my Auntie via text to watch Boukenger's western counterpart, PR Operation Overdrive if there's a holiday on a weekday & there's no work to do on a holiday. Blue is the color of the moment for me for 3-4 years. The color of revolution, representing the royal blood & the color of the skies on a clear day. Maybe the sapphire is not just the colored gem i want to have in the ring. I also want onyx, ruby, topaz & more. Call me the girl who ended up watching Boukenger in a portable DVD player while heading to Ateneo. 6 rings w/ 6 different colored gems, the magic of Boukenger is trapped inside me whenever i would cheer for Ateneo. Hey, i just want to buy the blue-colored Vuvuzela, i really need that for the New Year to become loud like the Ateneo-La Salle games & the heat of the UAAP Season 73 Finals where Ateneo wrote it's name in the UAAP History Books. A blue-colored Vuvuzela & an Accellular/Overdrive Tracker is hanging on my left hand w/ the replica of the sapphire-&-diamond ring hanging on my ring finger. 2 thoughts trapped in my mind, talk about the Blue Boys: Masashi Mikami & Nico Salva. :)
Blue is already now the color of the revolution, even on a time where a prince found his perfect princess. For me, i still don't have the time to find my prince. But i found treasures that could make my life better even i have the fear of imperfection.

Keep Calm

"I will be calm if i bought the 2 Jollibee Kids Meal toys for PR Operation Overdrive when they're on a re-sale."

That's what i told to dad on a semi-dramatic night last night after i was forced to sweep the floors, i was frowning, looking angry & at the same time, the thought was rushing in my head that after this, i want to collapse when i land in my bed after a hard work of sweeping the floors. He kept telling me to cool down, but i said i can't, i just ended up being hot headed like there's a bomb exploded in my head. The fire in my head & eyes started to lit up stronger as i become hot-headed, but calming me down? Try to pour a 2-litter bottle of Pepsi in my head or force me to watch the replays of this year's UAAP Finals so i can see again how Kiefer Ravena & Eric Salamat created history for the kids of Katipunan Avenue, just the Juniors-Game 3 for the Eaglets & the Seniors-Game 2 for the Eagles, please. (Let me admit, Bacon Austria gave Ryan Buenafe a 'bromance kiss', don't worry, Nico Salva was not shocked, at lease Salva was calm.) Maybe just to calm myself down, i'd better think about  a lot about the Bacon Austria-Eric Salamat-Ryan Buenafe-Nico Salva-Justin Chua bromance moments from the finals of UAAP Season 73 after Ryan's cold-blooded dagger 3.

In other words, i hate getting pissed because whenever my mom pisses me for not sweeping the floors, it's like there's a volcano exploded at the back of my head & suddenly, BOOM! I lost my cool & ended up being hot-headed like a monster or even crazier, a vampire. & suddenly, a few hours later, i would lock up in the bedroom & cry buckets of tears, i lost my cool, in just a few minutes. Holy Guacamole. So, i hate getting pissed because the worst of it might land me for a heart pain or worse, collapse! The first few days of last month after Ateneo won it's 3rd UAAP Tittle & before the heart-stopping semester break was like a drama series, something like a Taiwanese drama show. As i thought last night, it's like The Hospital to me, Jerry Yan should be the cutest Male Psychiatrist ever, his advice: You will be fine, if you bought the 2 Jollibee Kids Meal toys for PR Operation Overdrive on a re-sale, you will be calm. Not bad for a girl thinks that instead of looking like Vic Zhou, she's ended up looking like Masashi Mikami in a Nike-Ateneo Team Shirt & Team Jacket. Was it just like the Ryan Buenafe cold-blooded 3 for that?

My mind told me last night, calm down, Jumbo-tan, if mom continues to piss you, the thought about you will get a bruise that will last until the day you will receive your Overdrive Tracker on Christmas Day could be a disaster. Prepare the tiger balm, it's a first aid for bruises. But it gets worse that i thought, save up to buy the Nike-Ateneo Team Shirt & Team Jacket. (I don't want to cry on Christmas Day, telling my Auntie that mom & i had a misunderstanding gone wrong. The bruises will be a no-no to my Jumbo Escueta-ish body.) Or maybe, the bruises that i might receive will be as worst than the bruise on the back of my little sister last February where i end up acting like a scary kid as i rub my mom's ginger balm on her back to ease the bruise. But when it comes on calming down after losing cool. I can either reach for the bottle of Pepsi or the remote when there's a UAAP Game Replay on TV. But it gets worse than i thought, switch to plan b.

Guten Tag, Arnold Van Opstal!

Attention all fans of the DLSU Green Archers! Former DLSZ Standout Arnold Van Opstal who is half-German but he's also half-Pinoy is heading to DLSU next year as he joins his fellow Junior Archer Team-mates like Nico Elorde & Luigi Dela Paz. I stumble upon this article today as i'd wish that next year's UAAP Season will be as mind-blowing as this season like the good ol' tension of the legendary Ateneo-La Salle rivalry & we still don't know who will dominate. Some say Archers, others say Eagles. WTH? Let's look forward for that next year because it will be intense than this year. Next year will be the most intensive Archer-Eagle face-off. Ok, so Mr. Van Opstal will be a Green Archer next year, he's going to give former UV Lancer-turned-present ADMU Blue Eagle Greg Slaughter a nightmare. (YIKES!) Now this will be the intensive battle than ever. So, we have to look forward for that next year. We're still on a hangover from this year's UAAP Season where La Salle's legendary arch-nemesis retains the crown for the 3rd consecutive year. Can anyone stop the kids of Katipunan Avenue? Maybe the kids of Taft Avenue will do it, but if not, it looks like the Eagles will turn the UAAP into their lair.

Come to think of it, Fil-foreigners & foreigners who started to play high school basketball or being recruited by top UAAP Schools & ended up playing 3-5 years of Philippine Collegiate Basketball are now shining further in the UAAP since 3 years ago. The most dominant? Good ol' Ateneo & La Salle. From the kids of Taft Avenue, they got Fil-British Simon Atkins who is the Team Captain of the Green Archers & Indonesian center Ferdinand, the one-named Green Archer. (who made hell to Nico Salva & Jumbo Escueta last summer.) On the kids of Katipunan Avenue, they got former Faith Academy stalwart Jeffrey Kirk Long who can speak fluent Filipino aside from his native American English but can play basketball & baseball (remember his buzzer-beater from the ADMU-UST R2 Game on his rookie year for UAAP Season 70? It happened 2 days before his birthday!) but what makes him a hot-shot player for the Blue Eagles? Sharp-shooting 3-pointers from the 3-point range & even his hair, blonde or brunette, he can handle it, even it's messy or crew-cut. New in the list of the Blue Phenoms is Fil-Am Gilas Standout Gregory 'Greg' Slaughter. Now, both teams have players of different races, get ready for the intensified ADMU-DLSU Game came this coming UAAP Season 74.

For Arnold Van Opstal, he's ready to aim the target, beware!

Mom's Shampoo Law

Mom: From now on, you should buy your own shampoo that fits the needs of your hair! We can't stick to one shampoo brand so buy the shampoo brand that fits you! So, follow that rule!

Last October 20, mom told me & my little sister to buy the shampoo brand that fits our hair needs. We were shocked because it all started on a time we have to use one shampoo brand & ending up using it a lot or the shampoo doesn't fit our hair needs! So, it rushed in to my mind to do the unthinkable that reminds me of the crazy days of the first half of this year where i receive more than 1 box of the Sunsilk Damage Repair System (Co-created by Bobsoho owner & creative director Thomas Taw who is trusted by the best international super-models to repair their damaged hair.) I only kept the box that has a receipt which i received on my dad's birthday on the last day of summer. God, that was the unforgettable box ever. But, the wackiest event ever is when i got it for the 2nd time after last February. Dad went inside the living room & i was using the computer, suddenly, dad went home w/ my 2nd Sunsilk Damage Repair System 10-Day Trial Kit! I dropped my jaw & i was shocked. HU-WAT? Will one text for a free shampoo sampler ended up in 3 kits? OMG! So mom, i'll follow the rule.
Last week, i visited my Grandmom to check her out after the most intensive semestral break of my dear life because i was worried about my grandma's health. Suddenly, after i watched a shampoo TV commercial on TV & suddenly, Uncle Kaji went to his room & gave me a free shampoo & conditioner gift! (Sunsilk Hair Fall Solutions Shampoo 100ml, Co Created by NYC-Based Dermatologist Dra. Francesca Fusco & Cream Silk Pink 50ml Sampler Tube.) Now, it looks like i have to drop my jaw again as i end up following mom's rule of buying my own shampoo. Ok mom, i'm going to follow the rule of buying my own shampoo that fits me. What i just thought by accident, Sunsilk already launched the refill packs for the shampoos. That's good! Sorry for being the super-vein type of girl who is vein on looks, from her crowning glory to her fair skin & a body that needs to lose the bulge to get the perfect body. But when it comes on buying the shampoo, i might speak in my Blair Waldorf-like accent that makes blondie-turned-brunette Leighton Meester famous, about buying the shampoo. It's ok, it's a girl thing.

Thanks mom, from now on, i'm buying my own shampoo so i won't bother borrowing a shampoo the next time i take a bath.

Living The (Vintage) Teenage Dream

That's silly, the song, 'Teenage Dream' by Katy Perry is my LSS for now since i heard that for the first time last Saturday. It was going to be one of my favorite songs for this year. So, i just found out that 2010 for me is like i'm living the teenage dream. Very interesting, i guess that will be one of my favorite songs for now. (Like if i would upload a bunch of songs & save it on my dad's MP4 Player that he will give to me anytime soon. Don't worry dad, i will keep this since i called this, a techie heirloom.) That's it, why i haven't known about the word 'Heirloom' when i was a kid? I was just 19 when i learned about it by accident as i discover my Grandma's old issues of Victoria & Country Living that is still stuck in the study room & i was the only one who is reading it whenever i drop by there for a vacation or visit at Grandma's house. Being the first grand-daughter surely is a pressure, but Grandma keeps begging me to have a vacation at her house. Hmm, give me some time for that. The craziest vacation at Grandma's house was back 2 years ago on October 31 during the long weekend that falls on a Friday. Perfect moment: watching PR Operation Overdrive on Cartoon Network donning my favorite floral shorts that my little sister gave to me & my tattered Ateneo tee that i just retired last month after the Blue Eagles created UAAP Championship History on a Saturday morning. Now i wish mom will return the floral-printed shorts, there's an importance in those pair of shorts!

Next week, i'll get started to find the stuff i just found out we have it at home. Like the Victorian doll house i got 11 years ago, mom's old magazines & some interesting books like The Purpose Driven Life. I remember Uncle Kaji gave me a book called 'Being Happy' & i read it whenever i feel down & depressed, trying to cheer up aside from ignoring the negative things of the world by turning on the music. (I was even thinking that if i got my very first solo pic of Maui Villanueva of the DLSU Green Archers, it will be the perfect cheer-upper.) But what's up with the stuff that i need to find? Gosh, good memories never fade. Maybe i would love to buy the Initial D Movie DVD at Comic Alley after i watched the movie on a Taiwanese TV Channel last Saturday. (Jay Chou was surely cute there.) It's something like Junior Year HS where i need to collect some Initial D Movie snippets from newspapers. Ah, Junior Year HS is like i got started to live the Teenage Dream from attending 2 classes that could push me to the limit to attending a debut where i have to look more than the usual me as a student & of course, a lot of things.
Sounds like for me, it's a vintage teenage dream for me.

JED: Jumbo Escueta Disease

Forget losing weight so you want to get Vic Zhou's body, the new disease which is spreading like a virus is from a Blue Eagle who ended up being a crybaby when the Blue Eagles won tittle number 3 in the UAAP this season. The sinister? It's Edwin Jason Escueta, or simple known as Jumbo. If you think you're thin & you need some weight, because this is one athletic-related thing that you should have to do. Right now, i just found out that i'm suffering a disease called JED, better known as Jumbo Escueta Disease. But why? Jumbo weighs 230lbs, not that bad for an athlete w/ a big body which is perfect for shooting hoops. (Actually, it was Justin Chua who started it all but although his body is somewhat slight chubby, he can shoot hoops, hmm, good performance from this UAAP Season, Justin-han.) But who cannot forget the thoughts of basketball critics saying that Ryan Buenafe is not fit for this year's UAAP Season because he gained weight? Ryan proved that the critics were wrong after he did the magical 3-pointer last September 30 which become a red (or blue) letter day for the Blue Eagles.

As i look to myself right now, i guess i'm suffering from JED & i almost have Jumbo's body. So maybe, i need to lose some bulge for now to make sure i'm still in tip-top shape, just smacking it in to the center. Not too fat, not to skinny. Just right.
