What happened yesterday is a like time stopped on the day the Archers & the Eagles exchange blows at the hardcourt, but in the end, the Eagles prevailed, if it wasn't for their prized recruit. After a not-so-good start, Kiefer Isaac C. Ravena aka Kiefer Ravena, tagged as 'The Phenom' since his days at Ateneo High, had a rocket-high 24 points for that game. Like an Eagle unleashed his mighty wings, ready to take flight, Kiefer did the unthinkable to help his team take flight. As i would know, what he haven't done on his debut UAAP game as a senior will kick off on the day his team will face off the bitter rivals thru the years. As we all know, the Ateneo-La Salle rivalry is an endless story, thru the years, we don't know who's the team on top. They exchange blows, they collide against each other & the collision continued even if it's not basketball. So, when the day the Blue Eagles & the Green Archers meet, time will stop, every news we have heard or seen is ignored, focusing only on the celebrated rivalry in Philippine sports. But thru the years, the Blue Eagles & the Green Archers could rather collide in the hard-court, but when off-court, they could rather collaborate, be good friends & enjoy the life of helping, standing as one, helping others.
If you could only remember the years where La Salle could even go to Ateneo when ADMU is once located in Ermita before it was moved to it's present location at Katipunan, the La Sallites could rather throw fried chicken or fried eagle as if in the gates of ADMU, as DLSU got their taste of college basketball victory. We were silent in 2006, Ateneo needs to focus on the other 6 UAAP schools, but in the end, Ateneo knows only one rival: La Salle. After getting wounds by the Growling Tigers in 2006, they would rather be aimed by an arrow of a Green Archer. But if the Eagles seek revenge, their sharp talons will be deadly. Maybe i admit that i was not into the latest news, i was a college-basketball-geek-in-training, focusing on the UAAP's bitter rivals, collecting, buying & reading every article about them on the internet, TV & print like magazines & newspapers. Call me a supporter of either the Blue Eagles or the Green Archers, that will be my sweet escape from my troubled past. Like i would rather be aimed by an arrow or getting scratches due to sharp talons.
Come Round 2, it's a decider. The Archers & The Eagles are ready, the fans of both teams? They are also ready.
